a cold and rainy weekend.... the perfect time to detox from all the turkey and make some christmas ornaments to give to friends this year.

these were just painted red and then painted again with glitter paint for some shine. i laced them with silver threading and a snowflake charm at the top and stuck a small white map tack into the bottom to add a little something to the bottom as well. the words were done in different alphabet stickers.
simple and fun.
now go make some too....

happy monday!

Dawn - thanks for visiting my blog! I hopped over to take a look at yours, and I really like it. Your photos are terrific, and I really like your description of your blog/profile description.

And your christmas decorations are DARLING. I put up a little tree over the weekend, and made my own silver star from extra (silver) dryer venting, and then I strung some popcorn, which took FOREVER, and I'm still not done AND it's a little tree, but it will be cute in the end. I want to go make your little red stars now.

What is the star made of?

thanks! i'm glad you guys like them. i had fun making them. i forgot to say that the star is made out of mat board...i just used acrylic paint and a glitter paint over them. the glitter paint can get a little gloppy so a thin coat is better i found out :)

How sweet. I love these. Looks like you are getting ready for a fun Christmas.

Thanks so much for the note. Of course, one conflict leads to another..

Thanks again.

Dawn! You inspired me to make red stars for my tree, though I made the cheapo version with cardboard, red paint but sans glitter. Still love the red, though they're not as fancy as yours. :)
