I think smiling and taking in the scenery is a must as well..don't know when you'll get back that way again.
Usually, I stress the most about the ride. You know..making sure you are all set for the big trip with all your little things to keep you company. Never fails though..give me a snow covered landscape and I'm out like a light. I'm so good at sleeping through car trips.
But its a good question to ask yourself about anything,making the most of the ride.
