i have no time for foolish games.
i'm all grown up and have major responsibilities
afterall
i have a family
and a job
and a house
and a dog
and a car
and i have bills to pay
and i have things to do
i have to eat right
and i have to exercise
to stay healthy
so i can continue to work
and pay bills
and be a wife and mother.
so you see...
i'm very, very important and
i have no time for foolish games.

on the other hand
when i really think about it
isn't a work week really just about foolish games
anyhow?
and so, i guess i'm indulging in foolish games afterall.
there, i feel much better now.

happy tueaday!
and welcome to your foolish games!

Excellent! I completely agree. Especially we attorneys tend to think that life will not go on without us living, breathing, working all hours at the office ... and then it does.

Foolish games indeed!

Oh..I'm afraid I escape all the time with writing..probably more than I should.

Hope you are having a great week.

I hear you. Yes to foolish games. My indulgent one was is not always eating right. And pretending like I have nothing to do for hours. :)

Another great shot.

was passing by and saw your lovely poem - thought you might like to see this one in a similar vein

When I am Old I Will Wear Purple
Jenny Joseph's 'Famous Poem'
Warning!
When I am Old
I will wear Purple!

When I am an old woman,
I shall wear purple - -
With a red hat which doesn't go,
and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension
on brandy and summer gloves and satin sandles,
And say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
and gobble up samples in shops
and press alarm bells
and run with my stick along public railings,
and make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
and pick flowers in other people's gardens
and learn to spit!
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
and eat three pounds of sausages at ago,
or only bread and pickles for a week,
and hoard pens and pencils
and beermats and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry,
and pay our rent
and not swear in the street,
and set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner
and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me
are not too shocked and surprised
when suddenly I am old,
And start to wear purple!
